Richard F. Lilly Sr., of Warwick, Dies at 71
He was born in Providence, the son of the late Arthur J. and Clara (Rose) Lilly.
Mr. Lilly was the Director of Sales for the Prevost Company for over 20 years, before retiring in October of 2016. He was a graduate of CCRI, with an Associate’s Degree in Business and Science. He lived in Warwick for over 45 years, coming from the Fox Point section of Providence. Richard was also the Director of Purchasing for RIPTA, where he worked for over 20 years, retiring there in 1993. He was president of the Rolling Greens Golf league in Exeter, RI, he was the Baseball Commissioner for the baseball league at St. Gregory the Great Church.
A parishioner of St. Gregory Church, he was a member of the PTO at the former St. Francis School which his daughter attended in Warwick. Mr. Lilly was charismatic and had a zest for life. He made friends with whomever he met. He was an animal lover and enjoyed playing cards, refurbishing antique cars, and golfing. He liked to travel and was a Jack of all trades. He built 2 houses, which his family lived in over the years. Whenever friends or family needed something fixed, they always called Rick.
Mr. Lilly is survived by his ex-wife Helen & their children: his daughter Elizabeth Lilly of Warwick, his son, Richard F. Lilly, Jr., and his wife Karen of Loudon, NH. Richard was the uncle of Masoud Shadravan of Wakefield, MA, Christopher King of Surfside Beach, SC, Heideh Shadravan of Warwick, and Roeshan Shadravan of Encinitas, CA. Mr. Lilly was the grandfather of Gavin Lilly.
He was the brother of the late Arthur J. Lilly, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, in the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI.
