Retired Teacher at Tiverton High School, Frank Ferrara, Passes at 80

Frank Ferrara, 80, of Richmond Street passed away on October 18, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. 

He was the husband of Catherine (Couto) Ferrara.  

Born in Bristol, he was a son of the late Matthew and Deolinda (Raposa) Ferrara. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Frank Ferrara Jr. and his wife K.C. of Bristol; Michael Ferrara and his wife Wendy of Portsmouth and grandchildren: Genevieve Ferrara and Frank Ferrara III. He was the brother of Salvatore Ferrara (Jane); Julia Izbicki (the late Fred); Ellen Fennelly; and the late Robert Ferrara and Matthew Ferrara.  He was the brother-in-law of Judy Ferrara and Arlene Goddu (Albert).

Mr. Ferrara was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, received his Bachelor’s Degree from Roger Williams University and his Master’s Degree from Rhode Island College.  He was a teacher at Tiverton High School for 25 years before retiring.  He was a member of the Ocean State Alumni Drum Corps.

Calling hours will be held Monday, October 25th, 8:30 – 9:30 am at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street.

Burial will follow in North Burial Ground.

Mask use is required at the funeral home and in church.
