Retired Owner of An-J’s Appliance Service, Rene Ernest Rancourt, Passes at 87

Rene Ernest Rancourt, 87, passed away on October 11, 2021.

He was the loving husband of Jane (Finn) Rancourt for 62 years. Rene was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by his children Christine Rancourt Bruzzi (Joseph), Stephanie Hammond (Robert), and Stephen Rancourt (Jacqueline). He was Pépѐre to Corey Rancourt (NV), Rebecca Hammond (FL), Nicholas Hammond (CT), Andrѐ Rancourt, MMN3 USN (SC), and Mackenzie Rancourt (RI) and great grandfather to Riley Villafane (FL). He is also survived by his siblings Jeanne Benoit (RI) and Gerard Rancourt (NC).

A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was the son of Thomas J. Rancourt and Aurore G. (Bruneau) Rancourt.

He was predeceased by his son, Daniel T. Rancourt; his older brother, Antoine; and twin brother, Andrѐ.

He was the founder and owner of An-J’s Appliance Service for 53 years before retiring at age 72. He enjoyed spending time with his family, doing home improvement projects, fishing, gardening, and amateur radio. He was a HAM, K1AGA, for over 50 years.

Rene proudly served our country as a Damage Control Petty Officer 3rd Class in the Navy during the Korean War.

The funeral for Mr. Rancourt will be Saturday, October 16th at 9:00 am from the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in our Lady of Consolation Church, 211 Sabin St., Pawtucket at 10:00 am.

His interment with Military Honors will follow immediately at Notre Dame Cemetery, 359 Daggett Ave. Pawtucket.

The calling hours for Mr. Rancourt will be Friday, October 15th from 4-7 in the Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 health precautions, the use of facemasks is strongly recommended.
