Proprietor of the Carb Shop, Walter J. Kent Jr., of Cumberland, Passes at 76

He was the lifelong friend and spouse of Louise (Baron) Monroe and father of Toni Kent Fitzgerald of Coventry, Scott Kent of the Philippines, and Jeffrey Kent of North Kingstown, and his daughter Melanie Depointe of Cumberland.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the former Cumberland Fire Department Chief, Walter J. Kent Sr. and the late Rita (Gilbert) Kent. He was a life-long resident of Cumberland.

Walter enjoyed working on cars, racing cars, and spending time with his loved ones. Most recently, he most enjoyed racing in the Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby with his grandson, Auden.
In addition to his wife and children, he leaves his sister Sheila Kent Sanna of North Smithfield, his eleven grandchildren, and his two nieces.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Walter's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, from 5 to 7 pm and a Prayer Service at 7 pm in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.
Burial will be held privately in the Diamond Hill Cemetery at a later date.
