Owner of Toll Gate Coiffeurs Barber Shop, Francisco Bruno Jr., Dies at 80

Francisco "Frank" Bruno Jr., 80, of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Kent Hospital, with his family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Lancellotta) Bruno for 60 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Francisco Bruno Sr. and Marion (Ventriglia) Bruno.

Mr. Bruno was a barber and the owner of Toll Gate Coiffeurs Barber Shop. Frank started cutting hair in RI prisons in 1968. In 1998, he inaugurated an apprenticeship program at RIDOC which at the time accommodated 50 inmates across several buildings. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Hope Council.

Besides his wife Barbara, he is survived by his children, Maria Cardi and her husband Ron of North Kingstown, Frank Bruno III and his wife Amanda of North Kingstown, and Gregg Bruno of Cranston. He was the cherished grandfather of Alyssa, Nicholas, Mason, Caden Victoria, and Isabella. Frank was the brother of David Bruno and his wife Donna, and the uncle of Kenneth and Kristen all of North Providence.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 30th, at 8:45 a.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose and Clement Church, 111 Long St., Warwick.

Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church St., Cranston.

Visiting hours: Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m.
