Navy Veteran, Raymond E. Young, of Cranston, Passes at 74

Raymond E. Young, 74, of Briggs St., Cranston, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021, at RI Hospital in Providence.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Raymond E. and Margaret E. (Murphy) Young; loving companion for 35 years of Marie L. Madden; and cherished stepfather to Katie E. Madden both of Cranston.

Ray graduated from the University of RI and was a surveyor for the State of RI.

He was a Lt. JG in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was an avid bicyclist and member of the Narragansett Bay Wheelmen.

 

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 2nd at 10 a.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by burial with military honors at Olivet Cemetery in Riverside. 

Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
