Monty Python Star Terry Jones Passes Away at 77
"We have all lost a kind, funny, warm, creative and truly loving man,” said Jones’ family in a statement to BBC.
According to the BBC, Jones passed away on Monday, four years after contracting a rare form of dementia known as FTD.

Jones is known for his many roles in the Monty Python series
Jones first appeared in the TV series Monty Python’s Flying Circus before appearing in the films as a variety of characters include Arthur “Two Sheds” Jackson, Cardinal Biggles of the Spanish Inquisition and Mr. Creosote.
Along with acting in the movies, Jones directed 1975’s "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," and went on to direct 1979’s "Life of Brian" and 1983’s "The Meaning of Life."
While directing "Life of Brian," Jones took a role as a female character, Brian's mother.
In that role, Jones is famous for the line, "He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!"
About Jones
Jones was born in Colwyn Bay, Denbighshire, Wales UK, and went on to study at Oxford University.
Following Oxford, Jones and writing partner Michael Palin, teamed to write multiple British comedy programs, including “Do Not Adjust Your Set” and “The Frost Report.”
Following Monty Python, he went on to write non-fiction books and hosted numerous documentaries in the 1980s.
He also wrote the screenplay to the 1986 film “Labyrinth” featuring David Bowie.
In 2016, Jones received a Lifetime Achievement award at the BAFTA Cymru Awards for his contribution to television and film.
