Mildred A. (Wheeler) Ruiz, 63, of Service Street, Westerly, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 8, 2021, at her home.

She was predeceased by her husband Damian J. Ruiz on September 25, 2010.

She is survived by her daughter, Alicia J. Appleton of Westerly, her son, Henry C. Appleton of Westerly, her son, Justin R. Appleton of Westerly, her brother, Dan Wheeler of Ashaway, her brother, Bill Wheeler of OH her brother, Antoine Wheeler of Ashaway, her grandchildren, Nathaniel S. Burge, Braeden N. Appleton, and Peyton R. Appleton. She was predeceased by her first grandchild, Gabriel N. Humeston.

Mrs. Ruiz was born in Westerly on May 29, 1958, the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Smith) Wheeler. Mildred was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and enjoyed being a part of the Mormon Church.

Funeral services are private and under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
