Michael Anthony Zanni, of Cranston, Dies at 63

Michael Anthony Zanni, 63, of Clemence Street, Cranston passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 with his wife and children by his side. He was the husband of 35 years to Rosalba (Pelosi) Zanni.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Harriet (Ouimette) Zanni.

Michael started his career as an electrician with his father for Anthony’s Electric. Later, Mike worked as a computer programmer for GTech and then for EMC.

Michael was very involved in the softball community starting in his youth. He later was able to enjoy watching his granddaughters play, never missing a practice or game. He loved mentoring teammates, helping coaches, and chatting up the umps...becoming lovingly known as "Papa Mike".

He was the father of Denise Zanni and Nicholas Zanni and grandfather of Jayden, Adrianna, Gabriella, Gregory, and Mia. He was also the brother of Susan Erb and the late Peter and Anthony Zanni. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Maria Anna Pelosi, his daughter-in-law Dawn, and his buddy Tuukka.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm in the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Avenue, Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10:00 am in St. Rocco Church, 971 Atwood Avenue, Cranston.

Burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
