Mary V. Giro, of North Kingstown, Dies at 97

Mary V. Giro, 97, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2021, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center.  She was the loving wife of John J. Giro. Born in Worcester, MA, she was a daughter of the late George I. Chrobak and Anna (Kubicki) Chrobak.

Mrs. Giro was a homemaker and Communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church.   She was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Unit 42, Red Hat Society, and the North Kingstown Women’s Club.   

In addition to her husband, she leaves her loving children, John S. Giro and his wife Marybess Skaletsky of Windham, ME, Gail N. Hobday and her husband S. Robert Hobday, III of East Greenwich, Christine M. Hallam and her husband John of Johnson, and her son-in-law Arnold Mohring of North Kingstown. She was the mother of the late Deborah Anne Mohring. Cherished grandmother of Eric L. Mohring and his wife Melissa of North Kingstown and Kirsten A. Mohring of Londonderry, NH.  She was the sister of the late Edward Chrobak, Frances Murphy, Karoll Chrobak, Adele Siminiski, Albert Chrobak, Stephen Chrobak, and George Chrobak. 

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 11, 2021, at 2:00 pm in St. Francis de Sales Church, 381 School Street, North Kingstown.  

Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery. 

Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
