Marine Veteran & Former Owner Rainone’s Liquors, Michael Rainone, Dies

Michael A. “Mike” Rainone, 90, of North Providence, passed away July 9, 2021. He was the beloved husband of 70 years to Mary A. (McMaugh) Rainone and son of the late Antonio and Michelina (Rainone) Rainone.

Mike owned and operated Rainone’s Liquor in Providence for 45 years. He was also a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean War.

He was the devoted father of Michael Rainone and his wife Donna, Margaret M. Rainone and Ellen Kwiatkowski and her husband Gregory and loving grandfather of Anthony Rainone and his wife Caitlin, Michael Rainone and his wife Justyna, Alexander Kwiatkowski and his wife Megan and Edward Kwiatkowski.

His funeral with visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30 am in the Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Providence.

Graveside burial with Military Honors to follow in St. Ann Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s memory to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
