Marine Corps Veteran, Anthony Almeida, of Pawtucket, Dies at 73

Anthony Almeida, 73, of Norman Avenue, Pawtucket, R.I., passed away January 5, 2022, at home. He was the Lifetime Partner of Robin L. Cambra.

Born March 2, 1948, in Providence, R.I., he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Ferreira) Almeida.

A United States Marine Corps Veteran, Mr. Almeida served during the Vietnam conflict as a Marine 1st Recon Battalion sniper and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

Mr. Almeida was a manager for several entertainment businesses in Rhode Island and North Carolina. He was an avid fan of Nascar racing, enjoyed traveling, loved spending time with his family, taking road trips, and enjoyed flea markets and antiques.

Besides his life partner of over twenty years, he leaves one daughter, Isis Loynds of Cumberland, R.I., and his two sisters, Arlene Barbosa of Rehoboth, MA, and Sandra Pimental of East Providence, R.I. In addition, he leaves behind several close-knit, loving family members including many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and friends.

His Funeral will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 9:30 am in the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, R.I. Masks are required.

Burial with Military Honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston, R.I.

Calling Hours will be held Monday from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Rebello Funeral Home.
