Maria Teixeira Carlos, of East Providence, Dies at 87

Maria Teixeira Carlos, 87, of Goldsmith Ave., East Providence died unexpectedly on August 2, 2021, at RI Hospital. She was the wife of Antonio Oliveira Carlos. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, on May 7, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Teixeira and Silvana Martinho.

Maria was a woman of faith and loved caring for family and friends. She loved her grandchildren and was involved in raising them. Her greatest joy was sharing time with her family.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, she is survived by her children; Carlos Oliveira and wife Helena of Rehoboth, Jose Oliveira and wife Helena of Seekonk, Maria Cavaco, and husband Fernando of Seekonk, Ana Amaral and husband Ernesto of East Providence. She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Jason and wife Amanda, Patrick, Derek, and wife Jenny, Stacy, Matthew, Nicolette, Natasha, Kevin, Tyler, her great-grandchildren, Mya, Ayden, Brady, Noah, and Colton. She is survived by her siblings, Jose Teixeira and wife Teresa of Canada, Margarida Jacob and late husband Jose of Sao Miguel, Azores, Maria Do Rosario Jacob and husband Mariano of Canada, Antonio Teixeira and wife Evangelina of Canada, Maria Da Luz Medeiros and husband Joaquim of Canada. She leaves many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Paulo M. “Paul” Oliveira.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 N. Carpenter St., East Providence.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday Morning from 8-9:15 am at the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
