Maria F. (Lopes) Macedo, of Pawtucket, Passes at 73

Maria F. (Lopes) Macedo, 73, of Pawtucket,  passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. 

She was the wife of the late Lino A. Macedo. Born on the island of Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Eduardo and Maria (Lopes) Pinheiro.

Maria immigrated to the United States in 1968 and settled in Attleboro, MA, prior to relocating to Pawtucket. She retired in 2010 from Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro, where she provided patients with comfort and support. A longtime parishioner of St. Teresa Church in Pawtucket, Maria enjoyed crocheting and took great pride in her garden.

She is survived by a brother, Manuel Pine of Connecticut; a sister, Maria Garcia of Lawrence, MA, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Maria J. Oliveira, Fernanda Simas and Maria Dos Anjos.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment with her late husband will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
