Maria C. (Delgado) Pedro, of Cumberland, Passes at 73

Maria C. (Delgado) Pedro, 73, of Cumberland passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 11, 2021, at home.  

She was the beloved wife of Manuel M. Pedro for 53 years.

Born in Ferreira de Zezere, Portugal,  she was the daughter of the late Abilio and Cristina (Conceicao) Delgado.  She moved to this country with her family in 1984, settling in Woonsocket and later moving to Cumberland for the past eight years.

Mrs. Pedro was employed by the Clark Cutler McDermott Industries of Franklin, MA for 20 years until her retirement in 2012.

Maria was a communicant of the Our Lady of Fatima Church.   She enjoyed watching Portuguese soap operas, taking care of her dog Lily and cooking Portuguese food.  Those who love her will always remember her as a caring and generous person who was beloved by all who met her.  

In addition to her husband, she leaves her three daughters, Elsa Pedro of Cumberland, Sandra Listenfelt and her husband Steven of North Smithfield, and Carla Benitez and her husband Jairo of Cumberland; her brother, Abilio Delgado of Portugal; her eight grandsons, Edward and Ethan Daignault, Brandon, Bryan, Tyler and Conner Listenfelt, and Diego and Marcus Benitez.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Maria's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, from 5 to 8 pm and continue on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at 9 am in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home,757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am in the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.  

Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, 1 State St.  Unit 200, Providence, RI 02908.
