Sousa, Madeline V. (Cambra), 88, of Highview Drive, West Warwick, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 29, 2022 at Kent Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was the beloved wife of the late James T. Sousa.  Born in West Warwick, a daughter of the late John and Emily (Souza) Cambra.  She was a resident of West Warwick for most of her life.

Madeline was employed at Leviton Mfg. as a welder before retiring in 1978 and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church of West Warwick where she sang in the choir.

Madeline always put her family first & was always the life of the party. Singing, dancing & throwing the best parties is something so many can easily reminisce about when you mention her name.  She was a great bowler & also enjoyed golf, tennis & playing cards. Madeline always lived life to the fullest & was known for her spunky, fun, outspoken & loving spirit. Family meant everything to her but pictures & words will never be able to describe the imprint she left on her family's lives.

She is survived by a daughter, Lynn A. Greaves and her husband James of West Warwick; three grandchildren, Lyndsey Muthersbaugh and her husband Jeffry Bethany Greaves and her companion Kyle Northup and Corey Greaves and his companion Jessica Thurman; a brother, Dennis Cambra and several nieces and nephews. She is the sister of the late Gloria Marchetti, Edward Cambra and Eugene Cambra.

Madeline was the best wife, loving mom, amazing grandmother & the most incredible sister, cousin, sister-in-law, & aunt to her family.  She is finally at peace with her late daughter Laurie Jane, her late beloved husband & the rest of her family she always missed so much. She will always be missed & continuously loved beyond measure.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 10:00 am in St. Mary Church, Church Street, West Warwick.  Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Prata-Gallogly Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick (mask-wearing is strongly encouraged).
