Leonard R. Albanese, of Cranston, Dies at 84

Born in Providence, he was the devoted son of the late Romeo and Iola (Fioravanti) D’Ambra.
Leonard was an accomplished bass player and led many bands since 1963 until he lost a leg in December 2013. He was a refrigeration technician, working for Paramount Restaurant Supply and All-State Restaurant supply for most of his life before retiring.

Albanese and his wife Janice, and Gina Albanese. He also leaves daughters, Alexandria, Marissa, and Samantha Albanese; Sisters, Angela Burns, Elaine Leo, and Melody Kelly. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Jason, Nicholas, Jessica, Amanda, Isaac, Sarah, Rachel, and Matthew, and dear great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Keira, and Gianna.
He was the brother of the late Norma Gilleese.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 4th at 9:45 am from the A.A. Mariani and Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St. Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston.
Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
Visiting hours Monday from 4-7 pm. Masks are required.
