Larry Tavares, of East Providence, Dies at 44

Larry Tavares, 44, of Farnum Street, East Providence, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021, at Rhode Island Hospital.

Born June 14, 1977, he was the son of Manuel and Lucia (Oliveira) Tavares.

Mr. Tavares was employed as a carpenter and laborer for several companies. He was a member of Local 481 and Local 94 New England Regional Council of Carpenters, a member of the Braga Club, and the Providence Portuguese Sporting Club.

Besides his parents, he leaves one daughter, Sabrina Tavares of East Providence, R.I., One sister, Natalia Scarpetti, and her husband Christopher of East Providence, R.I., one nephew, Steven Scarpetti of East Providence, R.I.,

His Funeral will be celebrated Monday, December 27, 2021, at 8:30 am from the Rebello Funeral Home & Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, R.I., to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street, East Providence, R.I.,

Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, Riverside, R.I.,

Calling Hours will be held Sunday, December 26, 2021, from 3:00-6:00 pm in the Funeral Home.
