Korean War Veteran Stephen Gerard “Pinkie” Quinn Dies at 91

Stephen Gerard “Pinkie” Quinn, age 91, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022. He was the beloved husband for 45 years to Elizabeth (Goodwin) Quinn. Born in Boston, he was a son of the late Stephen D. and Anna L. (Cotter) Quinn.

He grew up in Charlestown and was educated in the Boston Public School System, and graduated from Charlestown High School.

Stephen enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on December 8, 1950 and served his country faithfully and with courage during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on December 7, 1954 and received the Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. A proud veteran, he was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Stephen owned and operated his own business, S.G. Quinn Electric for over 40 years. He built his own house and was a longtime resident of Carlisle, Massachusetts for 50 years before moving to North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Stephen was a semi-pro football player for the Charlestown Townies and played Triple-A baseball for the Boston Braves. He was an avid Patriots fan and season ticket holder for numerous years. He enjoyed traveling especially to Aruba and Ireland. He was a proud Irishman and held his dual citizenship.

He enjoyed listening to music, doing puzzles, and coin collecting but most precious was time spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Stephen was the loving father of Theresa Quinn, Steven Eric Archambault; beloved brother of the late Patricia Farris, Alice Evers, Mary Devlin, Nelson “Butch” Quinn, Claire Roland and John Quinn. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral and burial will be private.
