Joseph M. Constantino, of Cumberland, Passes Away

Born in Penalva do Castelo, Portugal. He served and fought in the Portuguese Colonial War in Angola, Africa from 1964 to 1966.
Born in Penalva do Castelo, Portugal. He served and fought in the Portuguese Colonial War in Angola, Africa from 1964 to 1966. After completing his tour of duty he immigrated to America in 1967. He returned to Portugal to marry the love of his life Teresa and have been married for the past 53 years. They settled in Cumberland, RI.
He was the beloved son of the late Adelino and Eufemia (de Jesus) Constantino.
He is survived by his beloved wife Teresa P. Constantino, his son David Constantino and his wife Patricia of Weymouth, MA, his two daughters Diana Kent and her husband Mark of Cumberland and Lisa Constantino of Slatersville. He is also survived by his granddaughters; Amber Pytka, Katerina Kent, Alexis Kent, and one great-grandson Odin Guy. His four brothers; Manuel Constantino of East Providence, Tony Constantino and his wife Rosemary of Lincoln, John Constantino of Cumberland, and Eddy Constantino and his wife Linda of Florida. His three sisters; Maria Ceu Mello and her husband Tony of Seekonk, MA, Ana Maria Salgado and her husband Fernando of Portugal and Alice Dubuc and her husband Richard of Barrington along with many nieces and nephews.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society, a Eucharistic minister, and a volunteer at the various church functions.
He was employed at Ridco Casting Co., Pawtucket for many years.
He loved to spend time with his family especially his grandkids. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, baking bread, and vacationing with his family. He was an avid fan of his favorite soccer team Porto and the New England Patriots.
The family would like to thank all the Nurses and CNA staff of VNA of Care New England for their care and support.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Joseph's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 8 am to 10:30 am in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive Cumberland.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
