Janet A. Duhamel, of Woonsocket, Passes at 84

Janet A. Duhamel, 84, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Mount Saint Rita Health Centre.

She was the wife of the late Normand L. Duhamel. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Bertha (Gay) Bourgeois.

Janet was a registered nurse for many years and an emergency room secretary at Landmark Medical Center before retiring. She was a talented seamstress and donated quilts she made for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.

She is survived by her children, Denise Duhamel and Michele Tancrell and her husband Marc; her grandchildren, Kerri Gilligan and her husband Tim, and Kate Hardenbergh and her husband Jimmy; and six great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas, and Maxwell Gilligan, and Zachary, Brody, and Alexander Hardenbergh. She was the sister of the late Wilfred Bourgeois, Shirley Nadeau, and Ruth Caron.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, July 14th at 11 am in Saint Joseph Church, 1200 Mendon Road, Woonsocket.

Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.

Visiting hours are Wednesday from 9:00-10:15 am, the morning of the funeral, in the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland.
