Gilda A. (Caranci) Menna, 90, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 24, 2021. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Dante Menna for 59 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria (Vacca) Caranci.

Gilda was a medical secretary for many years and touched the lives of many people. However, her greatest joy was her family.

Gilda is survived by her children Dr. John D. Menna and his wife Anne of Knoxville, TN, Joan G. DeCubellis, and her husband Raymond and Maria G. Menna all of Cranston.  She was predeceased by her son Rev. Michael J. Menna.  She is the loving grandmother of Matthew, Dillon, and Kristen; dear sister of the late Etta Lauteri, Theresa Andreozzi, Margorie Mulligan, and Gloria Gallo.

The family expresses its deepest gratitude to Dr. Frank Maggiacomo and Dr. Howard Safran and his team for their outstanding care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Providence. 

Burial will be private. 

Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lifespan Cancer Institute at RI Hospital, 593 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02903.
