Former Owner Seventh Avenue Stores & Air Force Veteran, Jordan L. Rice, Dies

Jordan L. Rice, 89, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at his residence. He was the loving husband of Janice (Brickle) Rice.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Alvin and Ida (Golding) Rice, he was a life-long resident of the city and he served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Rice was the owner and operator of Seventh Avenue Stores, which at one time had seven locations in the US.

In addition to his wife survivors include three children, Steven Rice, Melissa Rice-Golin, and Robert Rice; three grandchildren, Montana Globerman, Amanda Page Sweeney, and Tracy Whitmill and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral and burial will be private.
