Former Owner of Martins Tire and Service & Army Veteran, Kenneth Martins, Dies

Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Augustus and Germaine (Baillargeon) Martins. He had lived in Greenville for the past 19 years and had previously lived in Glocester. He served in the US Army.
Ken was the owner of Martins Tire and Service for over 40 years before retiring. He enjoyed boating on Waterman Lake. He was a founding member of the Snake Hill Winemakers Association. He was a car enthusiast, especially Ford and Gran Torino. He was a former coach for the All American Soap Box Derby, past President for Citizens for the Preservation of Waterman Lake, and a member of the Glocester Lions Club. Ken loved being on the lake and around his friends, family, and especially his daughter.
Besides his beloved daughter, he is survived by his sisters: Gayle Clary of Seekonk, MA, Elaine Thibodeau of Seekonk, MA, Sharon Poirier of Attleboro, MA, sister-in-law, Eileen Martins, and many nieces and nephews. He was the twin brother of the late Keith Martins and brother of the late Marilyn Mattos.
A funeral service will be held at a time to be announced in the Anderson-Winfield Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
Burial will be private.
