Eugenia (Mosca) Balducci, of Cranston, Dies at 93
Thursday, November 11, 2021
Eugenia (Mosca) Balducci, 93, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
Born in Fano, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Attilio and Domenica (Durazzi) Mosca.
She arrived in the United States in 1958 at the age of 30, settling in Providence to begin a better life with her husband who had already immigrated two years earlier. She then went to work for the Imperial Knife Company for the next twenty-five years. While she quickly assimilated into becoming a U.S. citizen, she never lost sight of her Italian heritage, which was evident through her love of cooking and storytelling. A homemade gravy, second to none, along with macaroni made from scratch, was enjoyed by family and friends on many a Sunday and holidays. Always willing to share the passion with the next generation, her recipes will live on forever.
Eugenia is survived by her loving son, Joseph Balducci and his wife Diane of Cranston; cherished granddaughter Gianna Balducci Parent and her husband Joshua; dear great-grandchildren Jayden, Jaxon and Jameson. She was the sister of Barbara Curzi and the late George and Mario Mosca.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 15th from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, Providence.
Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Mausoleum in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in her name, may be made to HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
