We lost Eric suddenly at his home in Exeter on Friday, May 24, 2024.
In his youth, Eric lived in the Edgewood portion of Cranston, graduating from Cranston High School East in 1976. He was in the choir and on the golf team.
After high school, Eric graduated from the New England School of Technology in 1979.
His work experience began at the Cranston Hilton Inn, and included Lutz Engineering, RI Refrigeration, SG Torrice Company, and Homans Associates. Eric was a well-known, successful, and respected salesperson in the HVAC industry for decades.
Eric’s principal love and energy went toward providing for others. Consequently, he used his business ambition and acumen as a vehicle for him to create the resources to help others. He marshaled his love of people with his time and ability to connect to others. When he understood the vision that others had for themselves, he then positioned himself to aid in their quest. With this drive and analytic skill, Eric also became a dedicated coach, mostly in basketball, but informally with the game of golf. Eric was a life-long and skilled golfer who established golf tournaments to fund the charities in which he believed. Eric created such events to serve the communities he loved and believed in. He learned this way of developing community from his parents, Erika and Miles Parker Jr.
Eric’s long-standing unselfish community building efforts associated with John Hope Settlement House resulted in his winning their Volunteer of the Year Award in 1994. He funded the AAU travel basketball teams he coached via golf tournaments and for the last 18 years Eric held a charitable golf tournament at the Exeter Country Club that benefited the Mass General Hospital.
Eric is survived by his dedicated wife of 44 years, Anita and their children Wesley, Brittney, and Ben and his three brothers, Miles, Peter, and Terrence and their wives and children. Eric also leaves behind his grandchildren Amalee Rose and Miles Wesley and their dad Jaboris Little.
Eric was a charismatic presence and a source of love for all who knew him.
