Elizabeth “Betty” Cafferty (Kelly), of Warwick, Dies at 97

Elizabeth “Betty” Cafferty (Kelly), 97, of Warwick died last Friday at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late John J. Cafferty.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Morrison) Kelly, she had been a Warwick resident for the past sixty-three years.

Mrs. Cafferty was an administrative assistant at General Electric for many years before retiring in 1987.

She leaves two daughters, Mary Ellen Curry and her husband, Phillip of Brooklyn, CT; Diane E. Cafferty of Warwick; her son-in-law, M. Joseph Rogers of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, Matthew P. Curry and his fiancée Melissa; Timothy A. Curry, Kevin J. Rogers, Kelly M. Rogers; a great-granddaughter, Hayley M. Curry. She was the mother of the late Kevin J. Cafferty and Karen A. Rogers and sister of the late James Kelly, Margaret Hughes, and Catherine O’Hara.

Her funeral will be Wednesday at 9 am from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gregory the Great Church 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick at 10 am.

Calling Hours Tuesday 5-8 pm.

Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
