Eileen Joyce Clappin, of Wakefield, Passes at 87

Eileen J. Clappin (McDermott), 87, of Wakefield, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.

She was the wife of the late Gilbert J. Clappin. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Mulane) McDermott.

Eileen enjoyed her friends at Brightview Senior Living Community; playing rumicube, bridge, playing card games, and enjoyed a glass of wine.

She is survived by her children, James P. Clappin and his wife Doreen of Wakefield, Brian J. Clappin and his wife Megan of Livermore, CA, Jeanne Laferriere, and her husband Michael of Sun City Center, FL, and Paul D. Clappin and his wife Susan Crohan of Wakefield and nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Allyson, Andrea, Emily, Alexis, Katya, Titus, Madeline Clappin and Thomas Mieczynski. She was the mother of the late Gilbert J. Clappin, Jr.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, 9 – 10:30 am in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Wakefield.

Burial will be private.
