Edward M. Leite, of East Providence, Dies at 70

Edward M. Leite, 70, of East Providence passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in Hope Hospice Center in Providence after a long illness.

The son of the late Edward H. and Louise Leite, he was a lifelong resident of the city.

Following his graduation from high school, Edward went on to train as an Electrician under his father, who was a Master Electrician. He enjoyed many years in the industry until his eventual retirement. Edward was known by many as a musical genius and had the gift of perfect pitch, being able to duplicate any song by ear as well as having the ability to pick up any instrument and play. A bit of a local celebrity, Edward was often seen riding his scooter around East Providence with his beloved dog, Benny, attached in his sidecar. People who knew them would often go out of their way to stop and wave as they sped past.
