Decorated Army Veteran, Daniel J. Curran, of Warwick, Dies at 28

Daniel J. Curran, 28, of Warwick, passed away on April 22, 2021, at Newport Hospital, Newport. 

Born in Providence, he was the son of Daniel and Kathie (Joubert) Curran. Daniel worked security at the Naval War College and served as the Vice President for the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE) International Brotherhood of Police Officer (IBPO) Local Lodge (620);

Daniel was a decorated Veteran of the United States Army and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2013.  He was awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars and a Combat Action Badge.  He also earned three Army Achievement Medals and numerous unit and personal awards. 

Besides his loving parents, he is survived by his dear sister Amanda Curran of Warwick, his maternal Grandmother Carole Ronan (Thurber) of West Warwick, and his paternal Grandmother Mary Curran (Dineen) of Cranston, RI.  Additionally, he is survived by his and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his military brothers and sisters, especially those from the 2nd platoon Chaos Troop OEF 2013.

His visiting hours will be held on Sunday evening from 5-8 pm in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service to be held in the funeral home the following morning at 11:30 am, followed by burial with military honors in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
