Coast Guard Veteran, Jon L. Lussier Sr., of Greene, Passes at 76

Lussier, Sr., Jon. L., 76, of Victory Highway, Greene, RI, passed away, Wednesday morning, October 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at home.

He was the beloved husband of Kathleen M. “Kathy” (Silvia) Lussier, they had been married for thirty-eight years.  Born in Providence, RI, a son of the late Leo M. and Thelma I. (Hart) Lussier.  He resided in Greene for forty-three years.

Jon was a Special Agent with the United States Treasury Department for twenty-five years before retiring in 1995.  He was a Vietnam War Coast Guard Veteran, loved spending time with his grandchildren, breakfast with friends, and enjoyed woodworking.  Jon also served on the advisory board at the former Coventry Credit Union now Ocean State Credit Union.

Besides his wife he leaves a son, Jon L. Lussier, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Plainfield, CT; a daughter, Christine M. Young and her husband David; a sister, Constance Higgins and her husband Raymond of Punta Gorda, FL; four grandchildren, Ava, Jackson, Noah and Caleb and a niece, Elizabeth Pearn.

His funeral will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 9:00 am from the Prata-Gallogly Funeral Home, 78 Providence St., West Warwick, RI followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick, RI. 

Interment with military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Warwick, RI. 

Visiting hours Wednesday 4:00-7:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in his memory would be appreciated.
