Coast Guard Veteran, Janet D. (Smith) Giroux, of Warwick, Dies at 99

Janet D. (Smith) Giroux, 99, of Warwick, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Kent Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond A. Giroux. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Raymond P. and Marrian (Berkley) Smith.

Janet had been a Warwick resident for most of her life. She proudly served her country in the United States Coast Guard and later worked at Victoria Creation for many years before retiring.

She was the beloved mother of Marilyn J. (Giroux) Carr, Paul R. Giroux (Joanne), and the late Steven A. Giroux, grandmother of Coleen J. (Carr) Amore, Craig C. Carr, Charles E. Carr II, and Paul R. Giroux II, great-grandmother of Caitlin Amore, Ashley Amore, Abigail Carr, Cameron Carr, Riley Giroux, and Tanner Giroux, and sister of Marilyn (Smith) Shuel of Pensacola, FL.

Per the family’s request, calling hours are respectfully omitted and the Funeral will be private.

Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
