Beverly Jean Mattera, Passes Away at 66

Beverly J. Mattera, 66, passed away June 28, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with ALS. 

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Mario S. Mattera and Rose (DePetrillo) Mattera.

Beverly attained a bachelor’s degree and three master’s degrees including Harvard University. She started her career as an English teacher. She then pursued a career in Human Resources at Digital, Millipore, and was most recently Director of Human Resources at Philips Medical.

Beverly spent her entire life working towards making sure her daughter Alex was loved, supported, happy, and challenged. She was Alex’s biggest supporter and best friend, and the bond they share will last forever. Beverly enjoyed spending time with Alex traveling domestically and internationally, burning 50+ mix CDs, and watching Hallmark movies and cheesy romantic Christmas movies. Each year Beverly researched and put together a yearly Christmas recipe book to share her love of food with her family.

Survived by her beloved daughter Alexandra R. Mattera; sister of Patricia A. Giardino (David), Carol R. Mattera-Enright (Steven), and David P. Mattera (Teri). She leaves several nieces, nephews, and a grand-dog Kennedy.

An inurnment was held at the St. Ann Cemetery Mausoleum.
