Athlete & Duck Calling Champion, Joseph A. Bush, of N. Kingstown, Dies at 74

Joseph "Joe" A. Bush, 74, of North Kingstown, died on September 29, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. 

 

Born in East Prairie, MO, he was a son of the late William A. Bush and Margarett Bush.

 

Mr. Bush was a versatile athlete and broke multiple track and field records while attending Auburn University. At Auburn, he was respected as one of the top 400 meter runners in the country.
 

Joe was passionate about making duck calls. While perfecting his craft, he brought his talents to the Reelfoot Lake Waterfowl Festival and was the National Metal Reed Duck Calling Champion in 2002.
 

He will also be remembered as a humble and compassionate Vice President of Operations at Senesco Marine, LLC in North Kingstown, RI.
 

Joe was the loving husband of Feng X. Zhang. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children: Kathy Bush Smith and her husband Lee of Spanish Fort, AL, Amy Bush of Mobile, AL, and Xin Bush of North Kingstown, RI. As the cherished grandfather of Lacie, Macie, Hannah, Abby, and Katie, Joe also leaves his brother of Tommy Bush of Spanish Fort, AL, and Sharon Asbury of Perry, GA.   
 

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 pm in The Cranston-Murphy Funeral Home of Wickford, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.  

 

Burial will be private.
