Army Veteran & Owner of Jackson Surveying Inc, Donald W. Jackson, Dies at 75

Donald W. Jackson, 75, of South Kingstown, RI passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at home.
He was the husband of Cathaleen Ann (Jackson) Jackson. Born in Providence, RI he was the son of the late Douglas and Teresa (McCarron) Jackson. He was the brother of Kay Cummiskey and Douglas Jackson Jr. Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Charee Jackson Andersen and her husband, Gregory and Chad Jackson, and his partner D’Ann Bitgood along with his mother-in-law Mrs. Barbara Ann Burdick.
Mr. Jackson was a professional land surveyor for nearly 50 years and was the founder and owner of Jackson Surveying, Inc. in Charlestown, RI. He successfully and proudly ran his family business with his children, Charee and Chad. Mr. Jackson was honored to be a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army.
His friends and family knew him as Donny. One of his most treasured hobbies was working on street rods since his very first little deuce coupe. In his younger years, one could find Donny burning rubber thru Green Hill and Matunuck. He enjoyed summers boating with his family cruising the open ocean on the Razzmatazz. Donny and his wife, Cathy loved to travel along the coast of Maine both by car and boat to Brooklin to visit dear friends and take in the sights and sounds of the Downeaster's and lighthouses. He will always be humorously known for keeping and making numerous lists. His diligent work ethic to succeed in numerous accomplishments thru the years will be revered.
To his family, Donny will be missed as a loving husband, cherished father, and patriarch.
Calling hours for Donald will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 10 am to 1 pm in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
Military honors will take place at 12 Noon.
Burial will be private.
