Army Veteran, Frank C. Betts, of Coventry, Passes at 96

He was predeceased by his wife Josephine (Abbruzzese) Betts in 2002. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Chisolm) Betts.
Frank served as a Corporal in the US Army 371st Bombardment Squadron in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of War during WWII. He fought with valor in several Battles and Campaigns including the China Offensive, and in Air Combat over Borneo and in New Guinea. He also served with the 13th Airborne Division. After an honorable discharge, Frank was employed as a Letter Carrier with the US Postal Service for 27 years in Johnston, before retiring in 1988. He enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Frank also enjoyed working in his yard.

A Requiem Eucharist Service will be (at a time/day/date to be announced) at Saint Francis Episcopal Church, 132 Peckham Lane in Coventry, followed by inurnment with military honors at Highland Memorial Park in Johnston.
Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at Maple Root, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (Rte.3) in Coventry.
Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted, memorial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
