Antonio Goncalves, of Central Falls, Passes at 85

He was the beloved husband of Lucilia (Afonso) Goncalves.
Born in Covas de Barroso, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose and Albina Goncalves. He moved to this country in 1970, settling in Central Falls where he resided his entire life.

Antonio was a communicant of the Our Lady of Fatima Church where he was an active member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Clube Juventude Lusitana. Those who love him will always remember Antonio as an active person who enjoyed working, painting, going for walks, and gardening, but most of all will remember the love and joy he had for his family.
In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves his son, Leo Goncalves, and his wife Paula of North Attleboro; his two grandchildren, Kayla and Matthew Goncalves; his sister Maria Goncalves of Portugal; his brother-in-law, Alfredo Afonso of Cumberland; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Acacio Goncalves, Jose Maria Goncalves, and Antonia Goncalves.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Antonio's Life Celebration to be held with visiting hours on Sunday, July 11, 2021, from 4 to 7 pm and continue on Monday, July 12, 2021, at 9 am in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 am in the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland.
Burial will take place in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
