Air Force Veteran, James W. McHugh, Jr., of Cranston, Passes at 85

James W. McHugh, Jr., 85, of Cranston, passed at his home, Monday, July 19, 2021. He was the late husband of Carolyn (Bottella) McHugh.

Born in Providence, Mr. McHugh was a son of the late James W. Sr., and Margaret (Flynn) McHugh.

Mr. McHugh served his country faithfully for several years in the U.S. Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged. He attended Bryant College where he graduated with a B.S.B.A. After college, Mr. McHugh made his career as a Sales Engineer with B.I.F. Industries. He enjoyed his lifelong career with B.I.F. for 35 years.

Mr. McHugh was a longtime and dedicated member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

Mr. McHugh is survived by two loving children Kathleen O’Brien (Shawn) of Warwick, and James W. McHugh, III (Steve Leary) of California. Also, surviving are his siblings, Edward McHugh, Patricia and Vincent Kane, Marilyn Brennan all of Cranston, Gail and Edward Burns of Connecticut, Maureen and Walter Behm of Florida, and Michael and Marilyn McHugh of Providence. As well as two cherished grandchildren, Cam, and Nolan O’Brien.

Funeral from The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick will be on Monday, July 26, 2021, at 8:45 am.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick.

Burial will follow at R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 5-7 pm.
