Adelino “Lilim” R. Sousa, of Pawtucket, Passes at 75

Adelino “Lilim” R. Sousa, 75, of Pawtucket, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.
He was the beloved husband of Joana D. (DePina) Sousa for forty-one loving years. Born in Brava, Cape Verde, Mr. Sousa moved to the United States over forty-two years ago. He was a son of the late Antonio and Candida (Rodrigues) Sousa.
Adelino worked at Leach & Garner, in Attleboro for over thirty years until his retirement. In his free time, Adelino enjoyed participating in various social clubs, he loved to socialize and spend time with family and friends. He was a talented cook, enjoyed working in his yard and watching soccer matches on television. He will be lovingly remembered by all his family and many dear friends.
Besides his loving wife, he leaves three children, Donna Andrade-Sanchez and her husband, Jose, of Los Angeles, CA, Ghislaine “Zuzu” DeSousa of East Providence, and Brian Sousa of Los Angeles, CA; two grandsons, Jurel Gonsalves of Providence, and Julian DeSousa of East Providence; six siblings Joao Sousa, Manuel Sousa, Idalgiza Sousa, Maria Gomes, Madelena Sousa and Arlete Lopes, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Elizabeth Lopes and Aguinaldo Desena.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. from William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 291 High St., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family is not receiving visitors at their home at this time. Your understanding is gratefully appreciated. You are welcome to attend the wake and services at the funeral home and the church to offer your condolences.
