Obituary: Joseph W. Gaulin

Joseph W. Gaulin, Sr., 64 of Cranston, Rhode Island, a retired correctional officer of 35 years for the State of Rhode Island, died peacefully on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was the beloved husband of Colleen M. (Mancuso) Gaulin for 36 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of Barbara (McManus) Gaulin and the late Irving Gaulin of Cranston, and the proud son-in-law to Elaine and Kenneth Mancuso, Sr. of Cranston.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Sarah Gaulin and her partner Roma Nhem of Warwick, Joseph Gaulin Jr. and his wife Sabrina of Coventry and Ryan Gaulin and his partner Michelle Link of Cranston. He also leaves six grandchildren, Talan, Gabriella, Joseph III, Domenico, Tyler, Mikayla and the dog he adored and loved Bentley.
He was the brother of Lynn Dinucci, Thomas and George Gaulin, Dorothy Battcock, and Susan Proffit. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was an avid golfer, Red Sox and Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. His biggest joy was to be with his family and friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-8: 00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Joe’s name may be made to the Lifespan Cancer Institute 593 Eddy Street Providence, RI 02903 or to the Cranston Animal Shelter 920 Phenix Avenue Cranston, RI 02921.
