State Leaders to Appear for Opening of Financial Opportunity Centers

The RI Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is celebrating the opening of four new Financial Opportunity Centers in Providence this Thursday.

Since 1991, LISC has been committed to improving the quality of life in distressed neighborhoods throughout Rhode Island.

The four new Financial Opportunity Centers—located at Amos House, Dorcas Place Adult & Family Learning Center, the Providence Housing Authority, and the Genesis Center—will offer job finding services and financial management assistance to over 450 local families.

The event, which will take place this Thursday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Dorcas Place Adult &Family Training Center, will be attended by U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, U.S. Congressmen David Cicilline and James Langevin, Providence Mayor Angel Taveras, and General Treasurer Gina Raimondo.
