Man Shot in Providence — Police Investigating

Providence Police are investigating a shooting in the city overnight. 

About Incident 

Shortly before 10:30 PM on Wednesday night, police responded to Middle Drive — off of Admiral Street near North Providence — for a report of a shooting.

Police said they encountered a large crowd in front of an apartment building, including the victim.

According to police, the victim — a male in his 30s — had suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. 

The victim told police he had been hanging out, when a man came up to him with a gun and shot him.

Detectives are currently investigating.
