CNN is reporting that OceanGate Expeditions has announced that all five members who were aboard the submersible are dead.

The New York Times is reporting that the vessel suffered a ‘catastrophic implosion.

“Pieces of the missing Titan submersible were found on the ocean floor, about 1,600 feet from the bow of the Titanic, the Coast Guard said. OceanGate Expeditions, the operator of the submersible, said, ‘our hearts are with these five souls.’

“On behalf of the United States Coast Guard and the entire unified command, I offer my deepest condolences to the families,” Rear Admiral John Mauger said in a news conference on Thursday.
