Two Providence Shootings May be Linked — Retribution, According to Providence Police

Providence police are investigating whether a shooting in the city on Thursday night was in retaliation for a shooting incident earlier that day.
As GoLocal reported, a male — in his 20s — was shot in Olneyville around 4:30 PM on Thursday.
“We are investigating this as a case of possible retaliation,” Providence Police Detectives Major David Lapatin told GoLocal.

Shortly after 7 PM Thursday night, police responded to a report of shots fired off of Valley Street on Boyd Street.
Upon arrival, police said they encountered a number of children in the residence.
Witnesses told police multiple gunshots were heard, and police located bullet holes in the fence on the property as well as in a bedroom wall and window.
Police say spent shell casings were also found on the ground.
