RI Coronavirus Deaths Approach 1,300 & More Than 1,000 New Cases

The Rhode Island Department of Health on Friday announced 6 additional COVID-19 related fatalities in the state, bringing the pandemic total to 1,294. 

As GoLocal reported this week, Rhode Island is on pace for 250 additional deaths -- or more -- by the end of the year

New cases are up over 55% week over week, with 535 new cases per 100,000 residents this week, as compared to 363 last week.

There were 961 new cases on Thursday, and a total of 1,050 total new cases reported bringing the state’s total to 13,761 to date.

There are 288 coronavirus patients currently in Rhode Island hospitals, with 24 in the ICU.
