Democratic gubernatorial candidate Paul Roselli appeared on GoLocal LIVE at the Rhode Island State House, to talk about his support for legislation to update the state's energy facility siting act.
"Here's what it does-- it brings Rhode Island up to date," said Roselli. "Right now we're years behind the curve. Everyone else, all the New England states have updated their citing and permitting legislation. Rhode Island has not. Rhode Island is still stuck with the original...[from] 1987."
Roselli also spoke to his support for increasing the board size -- and paying board members.
"Increasing the members from three to nine [allows for] transparency, makes subcommittees available so more people can get involved -- and allows for a public advocate," said Roselli.
"It will pay individuals who can ill-afford to be on boards and commissions -- that's really important," said Roselli. "Often these boards and commissions have people on them who are already paid -- attorneys, non-profit agencies, those in state government."
