Clean Plate in Providence will be hosting a Texas-themed fundraiser on Thursday, September 7 to benefit Southern Comforts Animal Rescue in Houston.
Susan Alper, who started the restaurant located at 345 Water Street in 2014, spoke with GoLocal's Kate Nagle about wanting to help animals in need after the devastation in Texas.
The event will go from 5 to 8 p.m. and feature such items as chicken fried steak and Frito pie. The $10 cover goes to the Texas animal nonprofit.
