One Of A Kind Culinary Concept at Ocean House on LIVE
Sunday, December 30, 2018
Earlier this season, the Ocean House resort in Westerly Rhode Island debuted the first known gondola dining experience in North America.
Jonathan Feiler, Director of Wine at Ocean House resort joined GoLocal LIVE’s Chelsea Guay to discuss the immense success of the experience as well as the unique seasonal dining concept found within.
What is a gondola dining experience, you ask? The structure is a former ski cable car that has been transformed to include radiant heated wood floors, plush seating and an exterior decked in the iconic Veuve Clicquot Yellow hue. Guests will be able to savor a three-course menu and sip champagne offerings from Veuve Clicquot in the gondola, which was designed to include details synonymous with Ocean House luxury and style.
For added warmth in the chilly New England winter, Fondue Express guests can borrow stylish white Columbia Titanium outerwear while they sip and indulge.
The menu, thoughtfully crafted by Ocean House’s culinary team includes a choice of traditional Swiss raclette; cheese fondue, a meat plate of bresaola, Black Forest ham, cornichons, vegetables and Swiss plum tart with cinnamon ice cream. As a departure gift, guests will also receive a collection of mini Swiss chocolates.
Much of the discussion on GoLocal LIVE - WATCH ABOVE - was about the idea behind the Fondue Express, as well as it's resonating success this winter season.
The gondola accommodates couples or groups of up to four people, and a portion of all proceeds will go to the Ocean House Fund for Charitable Giving, to help children and families in need.
Reservations are required, with seating available at 7:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; and twice daily on Fridays and Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
