Keith Oliveira, the Executive Director of the Rhode Island League of Charter Schools, appeared on GoLocal LIVE where he spoke to the legislative agenda of the public charter school advocacy organization in 2018.
"Our biggest priority is the housing aid reimbursement rate -- the Governor has moved forward a priority initiative to begin investing in our school facilities, which is a long overdue," said Oliveira, who stated that from his perspective, that charter school students should have the same reimbursement rate as traditional public schools.
"I hear the Governor and folks talking about equity, and making sure that all kids have access to a high-quality school and a 21st-century learning environment," said Oliveira. "We would hope that would extend to our public charter school students."
