Organizing and efficiency expert Kristin MacRae of Organizing in RI says often times people say they are too busy to get things done.
To figure out if you are being productive she set up a plan to evaluate how you function over the course of seven days, much like a food or exercise journal.
In the journal MacRae says to daily track the following:
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLAST- Log your time on social media.
- Log your time spent running errands.
- Evaluate your email process.
- How often do you get distracted?
- Are you disorganized?
- Do you have any routines?
“Evaluate what took place during the seven days,” MacRae says, “your entire week is in front of you on paper, you have an idea of what you were doing and where you’ve spent most of your time. Evaluate where you are wasting time and where you can be more productive.”
